Basic Ergonomics PDF Print E-mail

Ergonomics is a huge topic of concern even after the repeal of the Federal OSHA Ergonomic Standard. Employers still should be implementing programs to minimize all injuries including repetitive motion and related injuries.

Although an employer may not be required to educate employees in the risk factors of repetitive motion injury, material lifting, or other physically demanding tasks, training SHOULD be done for the purposes of avoiding injuries and saving the costs!

It is generally true at this time that many employers are experiencing reductions in the cost of work-injuries.   But it is always cost-effective to reduce the number of those unable to work because of work-related injury.  And though reduced, these costs are still significantly higher than necessary. Especially when considering the indirect costs of lost productivity, morale, and employee replacement during injury recovery. In addition, employers can still face sanctions from state and federal agencies when there are certain types or high frequencies of injuries.

Integrated Injury Management Services, Inc. is pleased to provide services to assist the employer in compliance with their state ergonomic standards or to prepare employers to provide programming for themselves. Ergonomic consultation, analysis, training, educational materials are available through the Occucom System, a proven program with an outstanding track record.
